Summer Program News

A great mix of stories about the Elwha River and our summer program for middle school students. This is a pdf version of the newsletter from the Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission.

This is a great mix of stories from Fall of 2008, including our middle school summer program with Lower Elwha Klallam and Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal youth.  The summer program was 5 days in length and included a mix of traditional knowledge and science education.  The students wrapped up their program with a traditional canoe landing on the shore of Lake Crescent.  The newsletter also includes articles about the construction of log jams in streams and rivers, as well as a rescue effort to save fish in a section of the Elwha River.
